For dates and locations, please visit: http://www.nintendo.com/events/play2014
The best part, The ENTIRE Event was FREE!!
Check out this video of our family highlights
There were lots of great picture taking props. Fans of all ages will love the themed zones filled with iconic items like banana-shaped seats in the Donkey Kong area, a giant Pokéball in the Pokémon section and Yoshi egg chairs in the Yoshi’s Island zone.
We also met Mario, Luigi, & Pikachu. The Website said Donkey Kong and Kirby would also be there, but they never presented themselves during the event we attended.
After completing a scavenger hunt to answer questions at each of the game stations fans can take their filled page of stickers to a claw machine. The stickers are exchanged for one free try at the claw machine filled with Nintendo plushies and T-shirts. To be honest, we waited about 40 minutes for the chance & left empty handed. We did see a few winners walk away from the machine with a prize, but the majority of those who tried were disappointed.
Plus, racers were able to satisfy their need for speed in the Mario Kart racing area. Put your skills to the test in Mario Kart 7 in qualifying rounds. Win for a chance to advance and show off your moves on stage with a giant TV screen featuring the new, high-definition Mario Kart 8 for Wii U.
We tried this more than once before one of us made it onto the finals stage. The competition was fierce and a few of the competitors proved to be true gamers. In the end the 12 year old in our family went on stage to battle and left a Winner!
All contestants that made it to the main stage tournament were given a Mario Kart 8 poster. The Winner (or winners) is given a special certificate of achievement & a Small plushy or key chain plushy. Our Prize was a Mario Key chain Plushy.
We finished the day with a few pictures inside the Giant 2DS!
Disneyland and its sister park Disney California Adventure has become one of our favorite vacation spots because there is an assortment of rides sure to make everyone smile. Using the park hopper ticket guests can easily go back and forth between parks. There are some really great fast rides for taller folks, but we love that there are so many fantastic rides for the smaller folks that the parents and older kids like too! These are some of our favorite rides, but certainly there are many more.
Disney's California Adventure Park
Here is collection of all ages rides in Disney's California Adventure Park.
Photographing your family in Disneyland is one of the best souvenirs.
It's easy to remember our camera when we have a Disneyland Character meeting us,
but sometimes the rides are so fun we forget to take a picture.
When we remember to snap a shot these pictures become great reflections of our vacations.
Here's a few of our on ride pictures in Disney's California Adventure Park.
Mater's Junkyard Jamboree
Radiator Springs Racers
Radiator Springs Racers Cars Land
Radiator Springs Racers is easily one of the top rides in Disney California Adventure Land. Guests Must be 40inches to ride because this is thrilling ride. Disney really made this area of the park look just like Route 66 in the Cars movie.
We suggest a fast pass first thing in the morning, since this is a newer attraction and very popular. However, if you do find yourself waiting, there is a lot to look at. The wait line for this ride takes you through Stanley's Oasis. Guest walk through the original settlement of Radiator Springs, a lovely town that began as the Comfy Cavern Motor Court.
See how Stanley capitalized on a natural cold spring and built a series of ingenious attractions, like a "pull up and fill-up" coolant station—a building made entirely out of empty oil bottles.
Remember this Ride is Worth the Wait!
The Authentic looking Car from the movie seats 6 people over 40inches tall. This auto race attraction takes you through a scenic Ornamental Valley past a Radiator Falls waterfall to the start line. Then participate in some Tractor Tipping and see a lot of familiar faces from the movie (Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson, Mater, Sally, Luigi, Guido, Mack and Ramone). Fine-tune your car at either Luigi's Casa Della Tires or Ramone's House of Body Art. You'll want to ride multiple times to see both. In the end you are racing against another group of riders in a race to the Finish Line. There is only one winner & both cars full of guests are screaming at the same time. This is so much fun!
We love to Ride Dumbo the Flying Elephant in Fantasy Land. Based on Disney’s 1941 animated classic Dumbo. This ride is for everyone, it doesn't matter how tall you are. The line is sometimes very short, sometimes very long. If the line is shorter we always do it twice in a row. The band organ located under the circus tent behind Dumbo the Flying Elephant was built by Gavioli in 1915. Faithfully recreating the musical sounds of several different instruments, this authentic fairground organ plays a fun collection of favorite Disney tunes during your flight.
Here's a video of our night flight adventure.
Dumbo riders decide how high they want to fly with the use of a lever in the ride.
There is also a Dumbo Gondola (car) sitting off to the side of the ride for picture taking.
This is great if you have a hard time getting the perfect in flight picture.
Here's a really fun on-ride picture we took.
To get this Epic shot Mom was in the front car raised slightly above the second car.
Astro Orbiter Rocket Ride
Astro Orbitor is similar to Dumbo the Flying Elephant with a lovely sky view of the park, including Sleeping Beauty Castle. Rockets are able to move up and down with a lever for guest to control, like the Dumbo ride. Usually a short line, but each rocket holds only 1 or 2 riders at a time.
Consisting of four types of Turn of the 20th Century vehicles.
Horse-Drawn Street Car, an old-fashioned trolley pulled by a horse
Jitney, an early automobile without a roof
Fire Engine, a replica of the very first fire trucks
Omnibus, a gas-powered, open-air 2-story bus
These rides are One-way trips that pick up at the transportation stops in Town Square and at Central Plaza in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle (excluding parade times).
Disneyland Omnibus Double Decker Bus Ride Top View
This is a fun way to rest your feet as you tour Main Street U.S.A. A second story tour is a lovely way to view the path up Main street to the Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Enjoy an Omnibus ride with the boys up Main Street.
Disneyland Horse Drawn Carriage Ride Main Street U.S.A.
The Clip-Clop of a beautiful horse drawn carriage is one way to feel like a Prince or Princess.
It's also a great way for mom & dad to take a walking break.
Please enjoy our mid day walking break, err.. I mean
Horse Drawn Carriage Ride up Main Street.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 2013
Disneyland decided to refurbish Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We're so excited to see the new one. Rumored to reopen in April, It's sure to be amazing!
This is a video of our families last ride on the train one month before it closed for refurbishment.
This ride was so fun & exciting! Fun for whole family. With a height restriction of 40inches or taller this train takes you on a thrilling adventure. Located in Frontierland, this run away train takes you through an abandoned mine shaft of an 1850's gold rush town.
This is my first Ipsy Bag Review Blog, but this is my third Ipsy Bag. If you are unfamiliar, Ipsy is a subscription bag club. The price is great for someone that wants to invest a small amount for a monthly subscription plan. The cost is $10.00US automatically deducted from your account every month. Plus, you can discontinue at any time. I think it's super-fun to receive a little present for myself and I don't know what it is until it arrives. Ipsy does sneak peaks to reveal the bag and some of the contents, however some things are still a surprise.
Join me on ipsy and subscribe to the Glam Bag! You get 4-5 beauty products every month delivered to your door, for just $10. Michelle Phan curates the bags! Check it out here: http://www.ipsy.com/r/1299
The hot pink shipping envelope is Ipsy's signature packaging. There is a small card inside with the name of this months bag "The Look of Love." Every month there is a different cosmetic bag. This month's bag is pink for Valentine's day with a satin like multi pink print inside. The zipper is white with Ipsy printed on the circle shaped pull.
First, there is a Fresh start mask with ice age mud. Skyn Iceland sample of both step 1 Blue Clay and step 2 Activating Gel. It reads to be for smoothing and refining, "a detox and brightening intervention." I'm going to try this tonight and update this blog tomorrow. =)
J Cat Beauty Eyelashes + Eyelash glue. The truth is, I have never been able to put eyelashes on. =) I am looking forward to giving these a try the next time I have an occasion. I hope they don't make my eyes feel heavy.
This eye shadow caught me off guard. This is a cream to powder shadow in the color violette. When I first opened this it reminded me of lip gloss. The applicator is similar to one you would find in lip gloss as well. So, I put it on my lips. It tastes awful! (*Note to self: All future beauty products to be tested on the back of the hand first.)
It's a beautiful color on the eye lid, neutral with only a slight rose hue.
It goes on moist and creamy, then dries soft like a powder. It stays quite nicely too.
My favorite item from this bag has been the Zoya professional nail lacquer. I believe the color is called Dot, which is a soft bubble gum pink. Initially, it took three coats before it looked evenly distributed. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it was dry to the touch and I was able to move freely. The next day, I did a fourth coat because I wanted a rich color. That was five days ago and my nails still look freshly manicured. There has been no chipping. Plus, I really liked the fact that it is the Big5free formula. There is No formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate or camphor.
Finally, Pop Beauty Lip Gloss in Fuchsia Freesia. This is very pretty color.
There is very little scent, which is a bit like baby lotion.
There is no taste. (Which was quite refreshing after the eyeshadow incident.)
It leaves a soft glossy feel to your lips and it seems to stay for a good amount of time.
Ultimately, I really like this months Ipsy Bag.
For the last three months, I have tried some new things I hadn't heard of
and enjoyed some things I may not have purchased on my own.
For a reasonable price I receive a little make up bag & fun beauty products in the mail.
I will absolutely continue to subscribe to this Bag.
If you are interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly bag service please follow this link: http://www.ipsy.com/r/1299
Thank you for checking out my blog. =) Make the day one to Remember!

Happy Valentine's Day
We thought it would be fun to share our thoughts about celebrating Valentine's Day and
To make this holiday super-special we decided to make a few heart shaped hairstyles.
Let's start with the Hairstyles
These are two adorable styles we thought could be a lot of fun for any Hearts Day celebration or just to wear because. First We have our triple heart style that gets noticed. It's really pretty and simple too.
Meeting Disney Characters is so much fun! We try to take our family trips to Disneyland at least once a year since 2005. We have some favorite things we love to do in the park, but we realized after our first family vacation that our family pictures with the Disney Characters were the best family pictures we had taken all year. The truth is, everyone is happy in Disneyland! There is no reason to fake a smile for a picture in the happiest place on earth. =) It's just natural!
It's hard to decide on a favorite character you had your picture taken with. We think it changes every time we go. We often take turns guessing who we will see the next time we visit. We are always surprised by someone unexpected.
Do you have a favorite Disney character?
Who was your favorite Character you've met somewhere?
Which Disney Character do you wish to meet?
