Ipsy Bag Review February 2014
This is my first Ipsy Bag Review Blog, but this is my third Ipsy Bag. If you are unfamiliar, Ipsy is a subscription bag club. The price is great for someone that wants to invest a small amount for a monthly subscription plan. The cost is $10.00US automatically deducted from your account every month. Plus, you can discontinue at any time. I think it's super-fun to receive a little present for myself and I don't know what it is until it arrives. Ipsy does sneak peaks to reveal the bag and some of the contents, however some things are still a surprise.
Join me on ipsy and subscribe to the Glam Bag! You get 4-5 beauty products every month delivered to your door, for just $10. Michelle Phan curates the bags! Check it out here: http://www.ipsy.com/r/1299
The hot pink shipping envelope is Ipsy's signature packaging. There is a small card inside with the name of this months bag "The Look of Love." Every month there is a different cosmetic bag. This month's bag is pink for Valentine's day with a satin like multi pink print inside. The zipper is white with Ipsy printed on the circle shaped pull.
First, there is a Fresh start mask with ice age mud. Skyn Iceland sample of both step 1 Blue Clay and step 2 Activating Gel. It reads to be for smoothing and refining, "a detox and brightening intervention." I'm going to try this tonight and update this blog tomorrow. =)
J Cat Beauty Eyelashes + Eyelash glue. The truth is, I have never been able to put eyelashes on. =) I am looking forward to giving these a try the next time I have an occasion. I hope they don't make my eyes feel heavy.
This eye shadow caught me off guard. This is a cream to powder shadow in the color violette. When I first opened this it reminded me of lip gloss. The applicator is similar to one you would find in lip gloss as well. So, I put it on my lips. It tastes awful! (*Note to self: All future beauty products to be tested on the back of the hand first.)
It's a beautiful color on the eye lid, neutral with only a slight rose hue.
It goes on moist and creamy, then dries soft like a powder. It stays quite nicely too.
My favorite item from this bag has been the Zoya professional nail lacquer. I believe the color is called Dot, which is a soft bubble gum pink. Initially, it took three coats before it looked evenly distributed. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it was dry to the touch and I was able to move freely. The next day, I did a fourth coat because I wanted a rich color. That was five days ago and my nails still look freshly manicured. There has been no chipping. Plus, I really liked the fact that it is the Big5free formula. There is No formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate or camphor.
Finally, Pop Beauty Lip Gloss in Fuchsia Freesia. This is very pretty color.
There is very little scent, which is a bit like baby lotion.
There is no taste. (Which was quite refreshing after the eyeshadow incident.)
It leaves a soft glossy feel to your lips and it seems to stay for a good amount of time.
Ultimately, I really like this months Ipsy Bag.
For the last three months, I have tried some new things I hadn't heard of
and enjoyed some things I may not have purchased on my own.
For a reasonable price I receive a little make up bag & fun beauty products in the mail.
I will absolutely continue to subscribe to this Bag.
